Stepping Out European Social Fund project |
With Wiltshire having a particularly large military-based community, it is inevitable that many people move to the area for the first time. Wives, husbands and children of those serving in the forces often find it difficult to find employment and support when they first move to a town such as Warminster or Devizes.
With this in mind, NWT offer free advice, guidance and training to those in Forces communities who are looking to return to the job market. This programme is available across Wiltshire and, in particular, to those living in Salisbury, Tidworth, Bulford, Amesbury and Warminster.
This scheme enables those in Forces communities to develop effective job search skills and contacts to prevent the risk of long-term unemployment. The programme offers the following elements and benefits:
Providing opportunities for personal action planning and skills analysis.
Identifying training needs and encouraging clients to access Jobcentre Plus training programmes.
Supporting those who require confidence building and motivational training.
Advising those making a change in career direction.
Providing 1 to 1 job search support, help with application forms, CVs, and information on courses and job opportunities.
Providing an opportunity for those who are unemployed to integrate with people in a similar situation.
Where appropriate supporting clients and employers in the early stages of employment.
